In a study published by Intel table describes the US-based chipmaker, which hardware components in the next series of ultra-fit books which do not. Especially with the thinnest line, manufacturers must take into account a lot of restrictions.
A VGA port is thus unlikely to fit into a 15 mm thin laptop. Together with the 7 mmhigh "slim" 2.5-inch hard drives, they must be soft to the trend towards ever thinnernotebooks. A drive for optical storage media fits because of its height and the large consumption of space inside the laptop only the largest, 21 mm thick ultraBooks.
Research released by Intel table (below) is color coded: While a green entrymeans that the device fits easily into the device is, yellow for "it does not fit, unlessmodifications are made" and a red entry means then, logically, the hardwarecomponent that will fit in any case in the unit.
In general, the two major book series Ultra - 18 mm and 21 mm - the producersobviously room for more hardware components, but then they differ only slightlyfrom conventional notebooks.
As it can be read from the table, tried Intel, with widely varying features and the different heights in the ultra-books, to make it as good as all right. Whether thisbalancing act, however, in the fight against the current incumbent market leadersApple and its Macbook Air proves successful, will probably show in the course of the year.
