The 82 percent of the smartphone market is between Android and IOS

The numbers proposed by IDC's global balance sheet for the first quarter show that the smartphone market is now becoming a two-horse race between Samsung and Apple, with four other vendors to do the sidekick. And if care is taken to the operating system platform even more is a battle between two Android and iPhone OS which control 82 percent of the market. Android sales of 90 million, 45 per cent of Samsung. Only a year ago this 82 percent was 55 percent. In particular, the total market share of Android in the quarter was 59 percent versus 36 percent a year earlier compared with 23 percent of IOS with which Apple had grown from 18.6 million to more than 35 million units.


Symbian drops to less than 7 percent. BlackBerry OS is in fourth place with a market share of 9, per cent.
