WhatsApp in the past, the most popular app proprietary cross-platform instant messaging, had been criticized for the security issues. Circulating the Internet today new suspects: the latest version, despite having built systems of encryption, it seems to use the IMEI codes as a password.
The IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) is a numeric code used to identify a mobile phone, a key, a tablet or other mobile terminal in a unique way.
Who wants to see it out of curiosity, can do this by typing the keys * # 06 #.
The problem is that the IMEI is easily readable and not secret, so it should not be used as a basis for user authentication.
